<p>Tasos Pafralides and his sister Evdokia run a small gas station in Thessaloniki. In the wintertime, they also supply fuel oil to many of the apartment buildings and houses in the city. But the deepening economic crisis in Greece means more and more people are unable to pay for the oil. A Greek Winter follows Tasos as he goes about his work in the city. He has to listen to many tales of woe about rising taxes and corrupt politicians, and to pleas for deferred payment. Elderly people in particular – many of whom have been deserted by their own children – are at their wit’s end. As one woman puts it, “We used to be able to take care of ourselves, but now we’ve become beggars in our own country.” Unlike his sister, Tasos seems indifferent and businesslike, consciously choosing not to let any friendship develop with his customers, because “in the end they’ll take advantage of it.” This is a film about coldness and warmth, in a climatic sense as well as in human relationships.</p>

Their desire for fame and their struggles, derived from their voluminous personal lettres and glamourous photographs, show a growing concern for their image as artists; their ultimate piece of art. Ragnar, their now elderly son sketches a shocking picture of the absent parents of his childhood. Nowadays a collective of art collectors are fascinated by the Van Leydens and try to put them, still a footnote in art history, posthumously on the map. The film was broadcasted by Omroep Flevoland and TV Rijnmond.</p>

Van A tot Z volgen we een uitvaart; vanaf de eerste ontmoeting van Christel met de nabestaanden tot en met de begrafenis. Wat komt hier allemaal bij te kijken? Hoe ga je als jonge uitvaartleider om met het verdriet van de nabestaanden? En hoe ga je om met de oude garde in de branche?</div>

<div>Het Noord Groningse krimpdorp Ulrum kreeg in 2014 een subsidie van 1,5 miljoen euro van de Provincie Groningen, om het dorp weer op de kaart te zetten.  Er werd een Stichting opgericht onder de naam: “Project Ulrum 2034 Dorp van de Toekomst”.</div>
<div>Een knipoog naar 1834, toen Dominee Hendrik de Cock in Ulrum een koppige opstand leidde tegen de Hervormde Kerk van Willem I. Het Project Ulrum 2034 investeert in een lokale speeltuin, het opplussen van woningen in het dorp en zij nodigt kunstenaars met een nieuwe visie uit.</div>
<div>In de documentaire Koppig Dorp volgen we Roelof Noorda, aanvoerder van Project Ulrum 2034 en Spar manager Marcel Vogelzang, die zijn winkel probeert te redden. Daarnaast wordt Rietveld studente Elize gevolgd, in haar poging om samen met Ulrummer bewoners de “Ulrummer sok” op de markt te brengen.</div>
<div>De nieuwe plannen om het dorp leefbaar te houden gaat niet zonder slag of stoot en levert grappige, soms dramatische, maar altijd heel menselijke confrontaties op.</div>

<p>Captain Basima is working as a priest in Congo&#8217;s army and confronts perpetrators of rape. He urges them to change. Just like he did.</p>

<div>Er waait een frisse wind door Volendam. De broers Frank en Paul Bond en hun bands AlascA en Dandelion proberen los te komen van het hechte maar soms ook beklemmende leven in het muziekdorp. Met hun eigen geluid en een eigen record label willen ze een alternatief bieden voor de commerciële Volendamse palingsound die het pittoreske IJsselmeerdorp niet alleen in Nederland maar ook ver daarbuiten beroemd heeft gemaakt.</p>
<p>In de documentaire Het andere geluid van Volendam volgt regisseur Allard Detiger de muzikale carrières van de broers. AlascA heeft net hun tweede studioplaat uitgebracht  en Dandelion werkt aan debuutalbum. Het blijkt lastig om onder het stigma van de Volendamse palingpop uit te komen. Publiek en vakgenoten plaatsen beide bands  zonder blikken of blozen in het rijtje The Cats, Jan Smit, Nick &amp; Simon en de 3JS en zijn verbaasd dat er uit Volendam ook muziek kan komen die in niets lijkt op de gemoedelijke volksmuziek.</p>
<p>Met muziek als kapstok vertelt Het andere geluid van Volendam ook een dorpsverhaal over jongeren uit een hechte gemeenschap die de wereld in willen trekken om hun dromen te verwezenlijken, maar zich ook zeer verbonden voelen met de plek waar ze vandaan komen.</p></div>

<p>De kunstenares Claudy Jongstra werkt met wol en vilt. Ze heeft haar eigen schaapskudde en maakt zelf haar verfmaterialen uit natuurlijke grondstoffen. Ze is gepassioneerd over haar relatie tot haar leefomgeving, het milieu en de wereld. Tijd, rust en aandacht zijn haar uitgangspunten. Maar het steeds grotere internationale succes van haar werk, trekt een alsmaar grotere wissel op haar vermogen om volgens haar idealen te kunnen leven en werken.</p>
<p>Regisseur Allard Detiger volgde Claudy Jongstra over een periode van ruim een jaar bij het proces van het maken van een groot kunstwerk voor het Barnes museum in Philadelphia. Het was een bewogen jaar voor Claudy, wat naast internationaal succes, leidde tot een burnout.</p>

<p>In South Africa between Durban and JBay lies approx 1000km of untamed topographical and oceanic paradise, in the middle is the Wild Coast. For local surfers Lungani Memani, Andrew Lange and Avuyile Ndamase, it’s their home . Every year in June the ocean swells to it’s peak, hosting the countries largest surf conditions and also becomes host to the sardine run bringing together a huge marine bio-diversity including many species of sharks.</p>
<p>This documentary goes up close with Pro Surfers Lungani, Andrew and Avuyile, their family’s traditions and tribulations along side a hand selected group of the best shark experts from the region to uncover the real secrets and stories that surround the shark stigma that exists in South Africa.</p>
